With the explosive growth of big data, artificial intelligence, and unmanned systems, infrared detection technology has become a core foundational pillar in national defense and security, aerospace, industrial inspection, autonomous driving, and IoT sensing. From weak signal detection at the single-photon level to multi-dimensional information acquisition via hyperspectral imaging; from the ultimate performance of cooled detectors to the widespread adoption of uncooled focal plane arrays — infrared technology is rapidly evolving toward high sensitivity, high resolution, multi-dimensional fusion, low cost, and intelligence, profoundly changing the way humanity perceives the world.
In recent years, China's infrared industry has formed a complete supply chain from materials to finished systems. Military applications continue to advance, while civilian demand in power inspection, industrial thermography, security, assisted driving, and medical diagnostics is growing rapidly. The market exceeded RMB 30 billion in 2025, with over 15% annual growth. However, key bottlenecks remain—such as cryocoolers, readout circuits, and infrared optical materials—leaving high-end products dependent on imports. Algorithms for weak targets in complex backgrounds are still immature. Civilian standardization is inadequate, and cost control limits large-scale adoption. Moreover, integrating AI and edge computing for real-time, accurate infrared image processing remains a major challenge.
The"Infrared Detection Technology and Application Forum" aims to bring together experts and scholars from domestic and international infrared detector manufacturers, optical system design firms, end-user application companies, research institutes, and universities. Focusing on topics such as core device development, advanced imaging algorithms, multispectral fusion technologies, and typical application scenarios, the forum will facilitate in-depth discussions to jointly promote China's infrared detection technology from "following" to "running alongside" and ultimately "leading" globally.
