As global manufacturing undergoes a profound shift from automation to intelligence, welding—often called the "sewing machine of industrial manufacturing"—directly determines product quality and reliability. Laser welding, with its high energy density, non-contact processing, small heat-affected zone, and excellent flexibility, is gradually replacing traditional arc and resistance welding. It has become an indispensable core process in electric vehicles, aerospace, precision electronics, and energy storage.
Driven by both technology and market demand, the laser welding industry is seeing explosive growth and structural transformation. According to the 2026 China Laser Industry Development Report, the domestic laser welding equipment market reached RMB 21.25 billion in 2025, up 29.3% year-on-year—the fastest-growing segment in laser processing. Domestically produced high-power fiber lasers (above 10kW) now account for nearly 80% of the market. However, the industry's next challenge is moving from "joining" to "intelligent joining." Conventional open-loop control cannot meet the zero-defect demands for reflective materials like copper and aluminum or for defects such as spatter and porosity. Meanwhile, AI large models, machine vision, and digital twins are providing the key to intelligent laser welding.
The" Laser Welding for Smart Manufacturing Innovation Application Forum" brings together leading laser and equipment manufacturers, 3C electronics and robotics companies, and research institutes and universities. It will focus on ring-spot technology, AI-driven real-time control, beam shaping, and extreme-environment welding, while deeply analyzing real-world challenges in new energy, steel structures, and consumer electronics.
