Under the trend of optical systems evolving towards "lightweight, thin, and intelligent", traditional optical components struggle to meet the extreme performance and integration demands in cutting - edge fields. New - generation optical devices like metasurfaces and metalenses have emerged, key to overcoming bottlenecks in imaging, sensing, and display systems. By precisely arranging nanostructures at the wavelength or sub - wavelength scale, they can flexibly control light wave phase, amplitude, and polarization, potentially replacing complex traditional lens groups with a single - layer planar element for revolutionary breakthroughs in size, weight, and functionality.
The meta - optical & micro - nano optical field has clear frontiers. One goal is to mass - produce large - aperture meta - optical components from lab samples, solving yield and cost issues to meet market demand. Another is to develop dynamically tunable meta - optics using electrical and temperature control for diverse applications like adaptive imaging and intelligent sensing. Meanwhile, the industry is actively creating multi - functional integrated meta - optical devices for high - integration optical systems.
However, the industry faces hurdles. Poor compatibility between meta - materials and semiconductor processes, insufficient long - term stability of metasurfaces/metalenses, and lack of cross - scale design simulation tools in micro - nano manufacturing hamper meta - optical device R & D and industry growth.
The "Meta - optical & Micro - nano Optical Manufacturing Technology Forum" will invite leading enterprises, experts, and scholars from metasurface/metalens design, micro - nano manufacturing, and meta - materials fields to discuss solutions and boost the meta - optical & micro - nano optical industry.
