In 2026, the low-altitude economy was officially incorporated into the Government Work Report and defined as a new pillar industry. Forecasts show its market size reached 1.5 trillion yuan in 2025 and will top 3.5 trillion yuan by 2035. The large-scale adoption of drones, eVTOLs and other low-altitude aircraft puts forward stricter requirements for the reliability, light weight and intelligence of optical sensing technologies.
Optical technologies cover core components, sensing systems and overall integration, acting as a key enabler for flight safety and operational performance. The industrial chain of optical lenses, optoelectronic sensors and multispectral imaging is developing rapidly, yet coordination gaps remain between upstream R&D, midstream integration and downstream application.
The Optoelectronics Empowers New Quality Productive Forces of Low-Altitude Economy Forum gathers scholars and industry players to exchange views on lightweight airborne optical devices, multispectral vision applications and optical system design for complex low-altitude environments. It aims to deepen the integration of optoelectronic technologies and the low-altitude economy, and cultivate new quality productive forces for the sector.
