The construction of the next-generation all-optical access network is accelerating, leading the way towards the 10-Gigabit smart era. In terms of technological evolution, the 10-Gigabit optical access network will advance towards ultra-high bandwidth, ultra-low latency, and intelligence. In the era of 10-Gigabit optical networks, it is expected to overcome challenges such as sensitivity degradation and dispersion penalty differences in 50G PON application scenarios, enabling the practical application of a 10-Gigabit optical network with coexistence of three generations of multimode and symmetric upstream and downstream capabilities. Furthermore, the integration of optical access networks with AI will deepen, driving an enhancement in network intelligence. In the future, regarding deployment and promotion, the 10-Gigabit optical network will be piloted in key scenarios such as residential communities, factories, and industrial parks, facilitating the evolution and upgrade towards the 10-Gigabit smart era. Meanwhile, FTTR-B is rapidly penetrating various industries, providing network support for micro, small, and medium-sized scenarios, comprehensively enhancing the application experience of smart services, and building a solid network foundation for enterprises' digital upgrades.
However, the development of 10-Gigabit optical access networks still faces challenges and difficulties. In terms of technology research and development, the maturity of core technologies and key equipment for 10-Gigabit optical networks in current network deployment and applications needs to be improved. In terms of business applications, the diversification of application scenarios, the variety of application demands, and the customization of enterprise requirements pose greater challenges to network performance and service quality. Against this backdrop, CIOE will invite the three major operators, optical access equipment/optical module manufacturers, and other stakeholders along the industry chain to jointly hold the "10 Gigabit Optical Access Diverse Scenarios Application Trends Forum", aiming to explore the latest technological advancements and application scenario expansions of 10-Gigabit optical access networks, thereby propelling access networks from the Gigabit era to the 10-Gigabit era.
