With the booming development of AI/ML technologies, the explosive growth of data across various sectors has imposed an urgent demand for high-speed and stable data transmission. The optical communication and network equipment market is embracing a rapid development opportunity, with 1.6Tbps wavelength technology set to be commercialized in 2025, supporting data transmission for backbone networks and intelligent computing centers, and meeting the needs of large-scale projects. The 2.4Tbps coherent technology, expected to debut in 2027, will enhance spectral efficiency, break through transmission rate limits, and enable ultra-long-distance and ultra-high-speed transmission. Long-haul DWDM technology, leveraging its advantage in long-distance transmission, is poised to embrace a broad application space, with a projected compound annual growth rate of 12% in the long-distance transmission sector over the next five years. Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology is widely applied in backbone networks, metropolitan area networks, and data center interconnections, driving the capacity enhancement of optical transmission networks. The 1.6T technology is expected to become the next-generation inter-generational technology for backbone networks, with key technologies such as T-bit-level ultra-high-speed optical chipsets becoming the focus of the industry. Anti-resonant hollow-core fibers offer a disruptive solution to overcome the physical bottlenecks of solid-core fibers. Meanwhile, the integration of AI/ML technologies with optical networks opens up new avenues for network optimization, but also presents challenges. The optical transmission sector is in a critical period of rapid technological iteration and strong market demand, particularly as the development of AI/ML brings new opportunities and challenges. 

Against this backdrop, CIOE will invite operators, system equipment vendors, and leading fiber optic cable/optical chip/module manufacturers to hold the "AI/ML Era Optical Transmission Technology Evolution Forum", which will focus on discussing key technologies for ultra-high-speed optical transmission systems.
