In the new era of "AI Intelligence+", new scenarios and applications are constantly emerging, increasingly highlighting the requirements for bandwidth and latency in information and communication infrastructure. High-quality optical fiber networks, as the cornerstone of network connectivity, play a crucial role in the interconnection of everything. As a core technology in the evolution and upgrade of current optical transport networks, 400G is set to be a major generational technology for at least the next decade. The commercialization of 400G technology will also drive a surge in demand for new-generation optical fibers and cables. The optical fibers required for today's computing power networks need to possess a multitude of new characteristics, such as large capacity, low latency, and wide coverage. For instance, the G.654.E optical fiber, which has already been commercially deployed, is considered the preferred choice for ultra-high-speed transmission technology due to its exceptional performance. In addition, space-division multiplexing (SDM) fibers and hollow-core fibers, which are still in the testing and development phase, also show great potential and are expected to become mainstream choices for future all-optical transport networks. The realization of 800G long-distance transmission in the future will require overcoming core key technologies above 200GBd, promoting the breakthrough of optoelectronic devices to higher baud rates, and further exploring the expansion of C+L to C+L+S multi-band technologies, which necessitates collaborative cutting-edge research by the industry.
Therefore, CIOE will invite operators, system equipment manufacturers, as well as the leading optical fiber and cable / optical chip / module manufacturers to hold “New Optical Transmission Technology Development in the Era of Computing Power Forum”, focusing on the discussion of key technologies in ultra-high-speed, large-capacity optical transport systems.
