Driven by the core requirements of AI large model training, demand for higher-speed optical transmission technologies has surged. The operation of the computing power network relies on ultra-high-speed, high-energy-efficiency, all-optical, and intelligent optical transport networks, creating clear and sustained demand for high-end long-haul optical modules, coherent optical communication chips, intelligent management systems, and new transmission media technologies. The collaborative development of optical transport systems with IPoDWDM and ZR/ZR+ optical modules has driven strong market performance in 2025.

In terms of technological innovation, the optical transport sector is witnessing breakthroughs across multiple dimensions. High-speed optical modules such as 800G and 1.6T are gradually becoming commercialized. New fiber technologies including space-division multiplexing (SDM) and hollow-core fiber (HCF) have broken the capacity limits of conventional single-mode fiber, providing disruptive solutions for latency-sensitive application scenarios. In intelligent development, optical network communication-sensing integration and AI large model applications have become core directions. The intelligent transformation of optical transport networks is reshaping traditional operation and maintenance (O&M) models. AI-driven fault prediction systems enable an upgrade from passive response to proactive prevention.

At present, China’s optical transport equipment industry is striving to secure a more advantageous position in the global industrial value chain, supported by continuous breakthroughs in silicon photonics, coherent transmission, and other cutting-edge fields. The current competitive landscape is characterized by intensifying rivalry and diversification. Leading domestic and international players are increasing R&D investment, focusing on core areas such as transmission efficiency improvement, anti-interference enhancement, and technical solution innovation.

Against this backdrop, CIOE will invite telecom operators, system equipment vendors, and fiber optic, optical chip, and optical module enterprises to host the High-Speed Optical Transmission Technology Innovation in AI Era Forum. The forum will focus on cutting-edge AI-driven optical transport technologies, including key technologies for ultra-high-speed and large-capacity optical transport systems, new fiber applications, optical network architecture optimization, intelligent network O&M, and optical communication-sensing integration.
